  • What issues are addressed?:
  • The lack of representation and equality for women of colour in Australia in leadership and entrepreneurship.
Women of colour experience a double/tripple glass ceiling in leadership and pay in Australia. Time and time again we are constantly left out of opportunities and discriminated against. This event provides a platform, community and the capacity building that is desperately required to close the gap for all women of colour.
  • Project Description:
  • #ColourFULL is Australia's first leadership and entrepreneurship conference and awards event by and for women of colour. This event is inclusive of allies, non-binary, all abilities and transgender people.

This event provides women of colour, allies and organisations with actionable strategies, tools, resources, opportunities and solutions to close the gap and create equality for all women of colour to advance. This event will also equip and empower women of colour with the tools needed to become leaders through a powerful community that will help them meet their goals.
  • Alleviating suffering / disadvantage?:
  • We know that being a woman of colour is challenging enough in the area of leadership and entrepreneurship. This is amplified through being a migrant, a low socioeconomic background and or indigenous. We need to 'see it to be it'. The event will alleviate suffering by having a culturally and psychologically safe place for women of colour to have the conversations they need to advance and progress in their careers. It will alleviate disadvantage by providing them with tools, strategies, solutions, powerful speakers and workshops, a network and community, sponsors, mentors, allies and coaches to support them to get a job, start a business and or progress in their career. The event will also empower organisations to address systemic racism that may exist in their organisations and provide employment and leadership opportunities to all women of colour.
  • Changing Policy, Practices & Systems?:
  • This project works to change systemic racisim that exists in organisations that is preventing women of colour from gaining meaningful employment and opportunities to advance in their careers and businesses.
  • Investing in or empowering women?:
  • This project invests in and empowers women of colour through providing a private network and community by women of colour for women of colour as well as powerful speakers enabling them to 'see it so they can be it', professional development, mentors, coaches and sponsor opportunities through the careers hub.
  • Media / Promotion?:
  • This project will work with the media to highlight the double/tripple glass ceiling experienced by women of colour to spotlight the wongs the project addresses. The project has a detailed media and communication plan.
  • How is success evaluated / measured?:
  • - % increase in pay after attending the event
    - Number of WoC gaining employment after attending the event
    - Number of WoC receiving promotions after attending the event
    - Number of WoC being mentored, sponsored and coached
    - Number of WoC starting businesses
